I, Katie Illingworth, cover several areas of practice. As a Registered Nurse; with a Independent Nurse prescriber qualification; Nutritional therapist, personal trainer and as a functional medicine health coach I offer a unique service that can support individuals and groups in health and wellbeing. As a Health and wellness coach I with individuals and groups in a client-centred process to facilitate and empower the client to develop and achieve self-determined goals related to health and wellness. Coaches support clients in mobilizing internal strengths and external resources, and in developing self-management strategies for making sustainable, healthy lifestyle, behaviour changes.
While health and wellness coaches per se do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide psychological therapeutic interventions, they may provide expert guidance in areas in which they hold active, nationally recognized credentials, and may offer resources from nationally recognized authorities. NBHWC Health & Wellness Coach Scope of Practice
As a registered Nurse prescriber, I will assess medical history any current concerns, and alongside the individual create a clinical plan where needed. Communication with your GP service regarding changes in medications, or suggested investigations will be done where appropriate. At Rounded Health we have access to multiple laboratories where private testing can be undertaken.
As I Nurse prescriber I will prescribe health and wellness plans in collaboration with the individual’s needs. This may include a medication review, or titration of medication.
As partners and facilitators, health and wellness coaches support their clients in achieving
health goals and behavioural change based on their clients’ own goals.
Coaches assist clients to use their insight, personal strengths and resources, goal setting,
action steps and accountability toward healthy lifestyle change.
